The Iraqi High Election Commission suspended all procedures for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

Jumana Ghalai, spokeswoman for the Iraqi Election Commission, said Today Wednesday 8-5-2024: "On the basis of the decision of the Federal Court, all procedures for holding the Kurdistan parliamentary elections were suspended".

"The decision of the commissioners to suspend the elections can be appealed to the judiciary," he said.

The Federal Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the suspension of the implementation of the second paragraph of Article 2 of the second system of registration of candidates and their approval for the 2024 Kurdistan parliamentary elections No.7 of the year 2024.
